Meet Reggie Marselus

Reginald “Reggie” Marselus has been a Lenexa resident along with his family since 1965.

Reggie graduated from Shawnee Mission West High School in 1972 and, in 1973, he began electrical apprenticeship training at the IBEW-NECA Joint Apprenticeship and Training Center. After completing his apprenticeship, he became a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local Union 124. He worked as a Journeyman Wireman for 32 years, retiring in 2005. While a member, he was elected to the position of Recording Secretary and also served on the Examining Board. After retirement, he served as President of the Retirees Club.

Reggie holds the position of Secretary of the Coalition of Union Retirees AFL-CIO, and delegate to the Greater Kansas City Building Trades Council in Kansas City and the Tri-County Labor Council in Wyandotte County, Kansas. He serves on the Board of Supervisors for the United Labor Credit Union in Kansas City.

Reggie developed a strong love of music in his youth and has used his musical talent as a church organist, serving at both the Overland Park Assembly of God and Olathe Assembly of God. He retired from the organist ministry after 36 years of service. In addition to ministry through music, Reggie has also taught Sunday School classes, served as President of the Christ Ambassadors Youth Group, directed the choir and served on the Board of Deacons.

As a resident of the 3rd District for nearly 50 years, Reggie cares deeply about keeping the district strong and vital as well as ensuring we are well represented in Washington, D.C. Reggie has spent his life dedicated to hard work, service, and leadership and would like to use his skills and experiences to represent the people of the 3rd District.
